This week’s spotlight shines on our Regional Manager, Jeremy. Covering the South East, Jeremy has been with OneSearch since Autumn 2019. Take it away Jeremy…

What does a typical working day look like for you?

What I love about my role is that no two days are the same and my role is nice and varied; typically I would class the perfect day as a good drive to visit existing or new clients and coming back having been able to help with and supply our product range.

What’s the best thing about your job?

I work with a wonderful team and especially enjoy being out on the road meeting new people, visiting new places and achieving results!

From your conversations with solicitors, what do you feel are the biggest issues they face today?

The marketplace; it can go from stable to slow overnight and can be vulnerable due to political factors etc. An important part of our role within the sales team is to help and advise clients. We discuss various options with them to create a tailored solution, helping them get the best out of the current market conditions.

What is your favourite aspect of our ordering portal?

It’s just so easy to use! It’s a great one stop shop solution for law firms and its beauty lies in its simplicity. We offer training to very new users, which takes minutes, but most could work out the system for themselves it’s that simple!

Your favourite OSD product and why:

For me it’s OneSearch Prime: fantastic layout and it simply looks great!

JUST FOR FUN

When not in the office, you can usually find me here:

Sitting in the garden enjoying a glass of cava or two with the BBQ lit. Being very much the family man, together with my wife and 5 young children we are always on the go! Having lots of fun on the south coast! My sanity cure is the above mentioned, my BBQ and favourite tipples.

Three things I would struggle to live without are:

  • My family
  • Wine
  • Gym

My last meal on earth would be…

A lovely fillet steak with a creamy avocado and asparagus spinach pasta.

Many of you will already know Jarrod, our star of this week’s Spotlight Series. As the Office Manager for our Midlands Office, Jarrod is responsible for onboarding new clients and assisting with various integrations. Take it away Jarrod…

What does a typical working day look like for you?

A good chunk of my time is spent supporting our clients with various services that OneSearch offer. I also spend time supporting the Sales team with various things.

What’s the best thing about your job?

Without a doubt, it is the people I work with. From the people I work closely with day in day out, to the people up in Glasgow that I have less contact with. We have such an amazing group of people and I always feel supported.

From your conversations with solicitors, what do you feel are the biggest issues they face today?

Time. Every solicitor that I speak to is rushed off their feet.

What is your favourite aspect of our ordering portal?

The product catalogue feature; being able to view sample reports/product cards for the majority of products. Particularly useful if you’re dealing with a product you’ve not seen before. Our clients seem to love it.

Your favourite OSD product and why:

I like OneSearch Duo. It has all the benefits of OneSearch Prime, with the added benefit of getting a bunch of information within 24 hours.

JUST FOR FUN

When not in the office, you can usually find me here:

I’ll usually be at the gym, at my local indoor climbing centre or playing football alongside the one and only John Margett.

Three things I would struggle to live without are:

  • Indian takeaway
  • Climbing
  • Exercise in general!

My last meal on earth would be…

Also Indian takeaway

OneSearch Direct would like to recognise our utmost appreciation of our exceptional Data Manager, Elizabeth McNaughton, who today celebrates an astonishing 25 YEARS with the company.

Elizabeth comments: “I’ve had an amazing journey working at OSD, joining the company on 5th June 1995 when it was Stirrat Park Hogg as a Data Assistant, responsible for collecting/inputting data relevant for the production of certificates for the Central belt of Scotland.

“As the company expanded I was promoted to Data Manager, responsible for 30 members of staff. New product development and a growing partnership with Landmark saw the introduction of our SiteSolutions Highways report and gave me responsibility for a new Production Team, which seen its own trials and tribulations during refinement, but also provided me with a great team of people.

“I feel very lucky to have such a great group of colleagues who have provided me with many great memories and generally manage to keep me smiling no matter what, which is no mean feat for those that know me well! I’ve been through some turbulent times both from a business and personal point of view and, through it all, my colleagues have been a huge support and part of my life over this 25 years. I feel privileged to work with great people. Thank You!”

No, thank YOU Elizabeth, we couldn’t do it without you! heart
